I really don't have much information on William Cater. I know that that an
Emeline Cater died in Wood Co. in 1859. This is from the 1860 Mortality
schedule.
By 1870 William had married Safronia Johnson. and had additional children.
I wasn't able at the time to find any other information on William Cater in
Wood Co. It has been quite a while since I tried to work on this line.

Then if this is the same Nancy Cater that married in Jefferson Co.,
Mississippi, that was supposed to have been born in 1808, Ga.( this is the
info I
was
given). I have to make a trip up to Wood County sometime next week
and
check
on William records.
Did he died in Wood county? If so then he should be in the records at the
court house.
That leaves another question. If Nancy was living here in Texas, when she
died was she buried here or back in Mississippi?
Nancy Cater is my GGGGrandmother. My line is from her Daughter Martha Ann
Cater that married Albert Helms McCaa.
This is interesting.
