Thanks for the nice welcome. I believe some wires got crossed, or I
inadvertently entered something wrong. These are my Cates
William Edward Cates, born August 08, 1862. He married Sara Susan
Suzanna Sally Noles. She went by many names. William's known bro. and
sis. are: Jack, George, Lizan , Margaret. William and Sally's kids were
John Willie d. Feb. 24, 1928, Thomas A.,Wesley E.,Rachel Elizabeth
b.Mar. 26, 1888 Hot Springs Arkansas, and Jack. Rachel Elizabeth
married Newman Hildreth Feb. 27, 1906, and she died June 12, 1974 in
Alabama. She got married when she was 16 and came to Alabama in a
covered wagon. She never saw her family again. When she died, she was
taken back to Arkansas and buried under a big oak tree. They were
afraid of grave robbers, so they did not mark the grave. Newman and
Rachels children were: William Augustus b. Mar.16, 1909, Elmer,
Lawrence Woodrow, Melvin Sankey, Nellie Mae, Hazel Irene, Elzie Edward,
Lloyd. I know all of their births, and most other pertinent info.
Newman and Rachel lived in the Nauvoo area. Rachel was said to have at
least 7 names. She didn't tell very many people those names though.
