I did not get to the library today to make copies from my film, but I found
this later today: Jefferson County Probate Court Roll #37 Wills VOL: 5-6
1826-1840 Tenn. State Library & Archives (the film is dated 1792 through
1798)
LARIMORES deed to CATES Registered April ye 15, 1797. 22 May 1796, Richard
Larimore sold "one hundred acres by estimation" for thirty pounds, on the
Waters of Dumplin Creek also Dower and title of Dower "as to make Thomas
CATE a perfect estate. Richard Larimore to Thomas CATES.
Reg. 22 March 1796 - signed, Richard (X) Larimore (seal)
his mark
Charles CATE Jurat
James MAINOR
John HENRY
All before 1800. This Thomas CATE was in that area early. This must have
been John (Sr's) Thomas CATE? We also have a Charles CATE prior to 1800,
James MAINOR and John HENRY and we know that all three were in that area. I
will copy these tomorrow, my plans at least. Ann elderbrooks(a)msn.com
