Oh Bruce, you talk Greek to me but I would not have the money anyway right
now.
So I will wait and see what happens.
You have given me so much information anyway. I think I understand.
Thanks, Bruce. You have done so much for the family and am not sure many
know or understand how much you have done. I may not know it all but know enough
to know you deserve a big, big "Thank you". Those North Carolina people are
very interesting and wish I could get a better understanding. I think I told
you a woman I wrote for information, wrote back that they were so very
clannish and all lived next to each other and were so many, no one knew who belonged
to who or could separate them. We even had a "Cates Post Office" for a while
and a place called "Cates" but we alll surely scattered also. I wish I knew
what happened to my Charles H. Cates.
He died very shortly after coming to West Tennessee where we live now. His
wife was a Wilson, one of 13 children and they came with them. While I have no
proof,I think they must have come in a caravan. Some families came to
Knoxville, then got on a boat and then went through GA., Alabama, etc. up to our
location. All I can think of is my ancestors with 8 children, they youngest
about 3. Oh My!
Well, anyway, happy we found the info we did.
Love, Sister Mary Francis
