Thanks, I'm always intrigued with early settlement and relocation. Talk
about a chore, just to move to the next county.

Thanks, I have printed your family info off and will study it. Looks
like
you are definitely connected to me. I do appreciate your sending the
info.
I think my Joshua was married about 3 times but it has been a while since
I
have worked with this line.
Charles H. Cates married a Wilson just over the border of Person in Orange
County.
The Wilsons' were the ones the Cates' migrated with and Charles H. must
have died right after migrating as his wife brought property in her name
and
signed it in 1839. The youngest child was born in NC in 1830's. Another
Wilson researcher said "who did she think she was buying property in those
days
but she had 8 kids so guess she had no alternative. Her brother did help
her as he migrated with them.
Anyway, Yoy might enjoy this, Crockett County where I was born is
surrounded by the Forked Deer River and they had a time getting to a
County Seat,
there were even killings over the deal. So the made Alamo where I was
born
the County Seat when County was formed.
Talk about pioneers.
