To ALL:
I had 4 hrs research time at Sutro Library yesterday and gleaned these items:
ABSTRACTS of WILLS of ORANGE COUNTY, NC 1752 - 1850 compiled by Ruth H.
Shields
1st: once more I would like to correct some misinformation on my ancestor,
LAZARUS CATES. It has been published in more than one genealogical item
that he died on 24 Sept 1802 and that he had a son named Lazarus. The
CORRECT information is that he wrote his will on 24 Sept 1802 in which he
clearly stated "to my five sons: Wm., John, Isaiah, Thomas, and Benjamin."
His will was probated in the Feb Court term of 1803. Bk D pg 89.
