Thanks for responding, Roberta. As for Mr. Joseph up there, you, me, and
several dozens of cousins would like to solve that one.
I had done the 1800 census for Orange Co NC, citing each Cate/Cates child and
adult on the census that I could identify, based on information from Dr.
Cates' wills and documents, along with members' e-mails. I will be working
on the 1810 census in the same manner next. There were a lot more cate/cates
then, I'll tell ya! Anyway, we'll be specifically looking for those folks out
there that have ended their search in NC, searching for a tie back to the
"original" Cate family from VA. We're all related, from what I can tell,
they
just went different directions : )
I am curious about the SC Cates, and if I find the time, I want to explore
that avenue too, to determine where their roots originated.
