You wouldn't happen to know where he died, would you?

Charlie,
Tennessee, Buried Black Oak Cemetery, is what I have. Do you know anything
else?
Thank you,
Georgia, I've always suspected that Joseph Cates, who died in MO, got married
in TN, born in Orange Co, NC, and had children in MO and IL, was of the
Barnard Cates lineage from the "old" Joseph Cates, but no way to prove it.
The reason I asked was Joseph was located in Bedford Co, TN, but it seems
they were "on the move" at the time. He is on the 1830 Bedford Co. TN census
and on the 1840 census in IL. I don't know how long they were in TN. Its
possible your Charles and Joseph may have been related (?) BUT there were a
BUNCH of Cates/Cate families that went into TN, amazingly to different parts
of TN.
Hey list, how about a discussion of those Cate/Cates families that migrated
to TN and where they eventually ended up?
I printed out your last e-mail, and as I work to gather more information to
determine Joseph's parentage by elimination, I'll let you know if I find any
connections. There are quite a few Cates kids born about that time who
parents we can't find, and there are a lot of Cates families whose lineages
we're missing from out of NC.
Good luck and keep in touch.
