This is my first post on this forum, and I, like a previous writer read
anxiously all the names only to find none overlapped (yet) with the little
tidbits of information I have been able to gleen on my CATES line.
However, here's hoping.......and much thanks to Bettye for all the time she
has spent sending and receiving e-mail to help me.

shows
Sarah marrying an M.C. Cates, but we know she married

do not know why M.C. was used on the marriage record.
Noah and
Sarah were married Dec. 1888, in Itawamba County, MS.
They had
four sons:

There is very little known about my greatgrandfather, Noah. I do have some
threads I am clinging to regarding him, though, and would love to hear from
anyone who has, or might have anything on this line. (and yes I have seen
the Noah Cates on the 1840 census and am in the process of investigating the
possible - and in my mind, probable - link there.)
Thanks to all for any help or suggestions I can get.
