If anyone on the list is interested, will be happy to do look-ups in the
set: "Tennesseans In The Civil War" published by the Tennessee Civil War
Centennial Commission. If you all think it warrants it, I will transcribe
the CATE/CATES/KATE/KATES entries, both CSA and USA and submit to the list.
By the same token, if anyone has access to the 1800, 1810, and 1820
censuses of North Carolina (preferrably the Accellerated Indexing books
rather than Mrs. Bentley's)
would you consider posting the CATE/CATES/KATE/KATES entries to the list??
I tried last weekend to find a copy of the 1800 and 1810 for NC with the
complete listings, but all the local library had was Mrs. Bentley's index
which did not list the complete ennumeration of the household.
I realize there are errors in the whole state compilations. But they are
better than reading roll after roll of microfilm. I've been there and done
that, thirty years ago - why my eyes are bad now.
