I've noticed that too, Susan. But I think they've just slowed down. I
have another mailing list I'm on and hardly get any mail right now.

I am looking for information on the Cates family that lived in Chattanooga,
TN ~1910-1930. My grandfather's name was Milton E(llis?) Cates and all I
have found so far is that he married Ethel Sample in 1907 in Georgia.
Children of this marriage were Willard (later William), Clarence, Albert
Earl (born 1914), Louis Thayer and Hazel Rosalie.
Any information would be appreciated.
I am looking for information on William A. Cates b. ca. August 1863. He
was married four times: First to Callie Brown on May 20, 1886. Then later
to Lola Yarbrough on Feb. 23, 1898, Mary M. ????, and last Myrtle
(Morrow?). He had two children with Callie Brown: Herschel A. Cates born
on April 27, 1890 and died July 19, 1970 in Vanderburgh Co., IN. His other
son with Callie is Welby Cates. He also had numerous children with his
other wives. By the 1920 census he had a total of nine children. Does
this connect with anyone?
Hi folks,
The following citations was originally found in an old book catalog
(1956). The libraries listed have a copy of the book either on
microfiche or a printed copy. If anyone has access to one of these
libraries, could you please look at this title and see if there is any
mention of how CATES migrated South.
Many thanks.

Jean, (WYON) Could not locate you on line, so sending this to the list.
I too have a Thomas Jefferson CATES in my line, and requested and received a
copy of his "Solder's Application for A Pension" It's dated June 1919, and I'd
be happy to send you a copy if you give me your address. This is your Thomas
that married Rebecca SPENCE. In fact it has her signature and his. It also
contains the Application for Mortuary Warrant, after his death.
Hopefully, you can use it.
Charlie Ward
