Hi All, please don't put living people on the List in your Roll Call.
I am having company all next week so I will not be able to check your
lines to see if I can help until the week after Thanksgiving. There
are over 150 members on the List now so hopefully we can all help
each other.
Happy Thanksgiving to all

Caroline,
I think that most of us are still trying to get our CATES
from America to England. I for one would love to connect
with the England CATES.

Did any of you find a Mary Cate(S) who married a Day? I have no information
except the son of Mary Cates Day came from Shelby Co. Tn. to Texas with Sam
Houston, where he was a cattle raiser and helped build the railroad in East
Texas. He was the foudner of Dayton Texas and married Three times. The
third was to my Munson Great ggrandmother, Martha Caroline (Munson) Orr
Prewitt Day. Surely , some one has them in a lineage from Tn. OR from the
Nashville area? I find the other Days have a Jamesand that was the name of
his son, James H. Day. Isaiah Day was married to 1.Alice Stuart, 2. Rachael
Whitlock, 3. Martha Caroline Munson. He was born June 12th 1812.
I have one Cates.
Rachel Cates b. 4 Sep 1765 in NC m. before 7 May 1793 in TN and died in AL
30 Oct 1843.
She married Lodowick Moore. Rufus Cates witnessed Lodowick's will.
Rachel's father may have been Robert.
I have three Cate lines. The first is from James to me. The other two
are shorter. A genealogy with dates and children are listed at my page
at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Park/3376
Plus misc. info on the family. My direct line is as follows.
1. James Cate (b. ca. 1634) m. Alice
2. Edward Cate(b. ca. 1655 Portsmouth, NH) m.Elizabeth Tucker
3. James Cate (b. 1693 Portsmouth, NH) m. Margaret Briard
4. James Cate (ba. 1728 Greenland, NH) m. Elizabeth
5. Ebenezer Cate (lived in Sanbornton, NH) m. Deborah Sanborn
6. James Cate (b. 1800 Sanbornton, NH) m. Anna Park Tower
7. Daniel Tower Cate (b. 1831 Franklin, NH) m. Elizabeth Davies
(Cotton)
8. Charles James Cate (b. 1881 Laconia, NH) m. Mary Evangeline Sebra
9. Arba Daniel Cate (b. 1911 Lochmere, NH) m. Frances Rae Churchill
10. David Richard Cate (b. 1938 Laconia, NH) m. Freeda Mae Burtcher
11. Theresa Darleen Cate (b. 1958 Orange Park, Fl) m. William Joseph
Richardson
The above is from my paternal grandfather's line. Below are two lines
(caused by first cousins marrying) from my paternal grandmother's line :
1. James Cate m. Alice
2. Edward Cate m. Elizabeth Tucker
3. Tucker Cate (b. 1695) m. Mary Sanborn
4. Lydia Cate (ba. 1722) m. David Haines
Mary Haines m. Taylor Clark
And another line goes:
1. James Cate m. Alice
2. Edward Cate m. Elizabeth Tucker
3. Tucker Cate m. Mary Sanborn
4. Rachel Cate (ba. 1739) m. Satchel Clark
Taylor Clark m. Mary Haines
My mother's line is all from the south and not much info on alot of
lines, but expect to find a southern Cate/s sooner or later!
Theresa

H.H. Moore who married Rebecca Cate that was sent in January of this
year. I think it was sent by Ann Poe but am not sure. Would someone
please post it again. Sorry to be so much trouble. Pat
