Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. In Mrs. Manley's book and I do not have Mrs. Dawson's handy but a lot of
confusion has existed and is still quoted that a John MOUNT m. Sarah "Sally"
CATE & (2) another Sarah CATE that John MOUNT was not the son of Humphrey
MOUNT., SR. who came from NC to Sevier Co TN and resided in Jefferson Co., TN.
John MOUNT son of Humphrey MOUNT and (1) no record of marriage has been
located, possibly married in NC. John MOUNT was b. ca 1798 in Jefferson Co.
TN.; John MOUNT mar: 30 Jan. 1823 in Jefferson Co TN Martha "Patsey" Mills;
Bondsman was Charles WHITE; Henry CALLEN, J.P. I can supply bond # but it is
not near but if needed will. Humphrey Sr also named all of his children in
his will.

Searching for parents of RICHARD CATES, born in Tennessee
about 1840. By 1870 Richard Cates was living in Jack County,
Texas and was married to Adeline Richards. He died there
in the late 1870s or early 1880s.
Any information would be appreciated.
I don't have much info, but wondered if anybody has information on
Mary CATES who married Richard SINNETT September 20,1786 in Virginia. Richard
Sinnett was born c1760 and I have a list of their children. Anybody
researching the Cates of Virginia?
