Hi Tim
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
I have come across the info you mentioned but cant quite tie things
together. I cant see why Georgina would be with James as her father though
in another census his spouse is listed as Elizabeth Catchpole. Yet the
John/Anna had 2 children it was prior to his death 1853 but neither are
Georgina and both children died young.
Johns ancestors searching his family trees seem certain he did die in 1853
though there are 2 John Catchpoles buried at Kessingland 1853 & 1898, pity I
cant read their headstones for more info.
I also wonder if the birthplace is not London but Loddon, Norfolk or Ludham,
Suffolk or Lound, Suffolk.
I suppose if it was too easy it might be boring haha
Thanks again
Kim

Georgina's not one of my ancestors but its an unusual christian name and
I've had a quick look for her. John Catchpole & Anna Maria married on 13 nov
1849. Anna Maria died July 1860, according to other researchers on the
'Ancestry' website. Nothing in the censuses seems to tie in with your info.
The only perhaps suitable entry was born in the last quarter of 1857 in
Kessingland (see Free BMD to get certificate details) and in the 1861 census
she appears to be living with a James Blake as "Father"
in Kessingland. In the 1871 census there's no Georgina Catchpole but there
is a 14 year old Georgianna Blake in Kessingland. In 1881 she's a Catchpole
again, living as a domestic servant in Putney, London.
I hope this helps: I don't think that Georgina had a stable early life!

Hi from New Zealand
Re Georgina Maud Catchpole
1) Her marriage cert in 1884 has her at 23 years at the time so making
her born about 1861 depending when her birthday falls in the year.
Birthplace is London, besides the city Im not sure if there's any
other London's in England?? Father listed as John Catchpole - farmer,
mother Annie Maria nee Elliott.
2) On her death printout, baring in mine info probably supplied by her
second husband so may not be accurate re dates, but it says at the
time she was 34 years making her born 1867 again parents the same but
note John has a second name with the initial possibly a 'J' this time,
again a farmer and again Georgina born in London.
3) I have info of a Georgina Catchpole arriving in New Zealand from
Suffolk in early 1884, 24 years making her born in 1860, again subject to
birthday.
I have found a John Catchpole who died 1853 and buried in Kessingland,
Suffolk who was married to an Anna Marie nee Elliott, with his parents
as Isaac and Hannah. But he died before Georgina was born.
I wonder at birth if Georgina's name is slightly different to what was
later used? Im now thinking there were 2 John Catchpoles who married
an Annie/Anna Maria Elliott.
I would be grateful for some input on this frustrating part of my
family tree.
Regards
Kim
