Hi list...
Today, my g'aunt let me read and copy a journal for my great-grandaunt Viola
Catchings, and a newspaper article written by one of her sisters, Emily when
she was between 17 and 20. I also was given, to copy, Emily's delayed birth
certificate, discharge papers of George Thompson from Co."A" 15th Regiment
of Cavalry 2nd Volunteers (sic) in Springfield, Missouri on July 1, 1865.
He was born in Giles(sic), Tennessee 37 years before. He was a blacksmith.
I also have, to copy, a page from a family bible that lists these names....
NOTTINGHAM, THOMPSON, OBERMIER, and SHULTZ(sic) all born in the 185? to a
death in 1909.
I also have a tin-type picture with the following on the back....
Great grandma CATCHINGS of born 1831, grandpa John CATCHINGS, son 1849.
If anyone is interested in any of these items, I can give more details. I
will be asking permission to put them all up on my web page.
