My cousin did a report on our family a few years ago for a paper for
college. It's interesting to note that nothing I have seen on the internet
shows that Francis Catchings was married to my great great grandmother Ammie
Alexander. Like I mentioned she was "mixed" worked in his kitchen when he
was married to Ida. What I was told was that he fell in love with Ammie and
left Ida! Julia was so digusted, once Francis died, she through the children
off of the land. Nothing that I have seen documents the children that they
had from their "marriage". But this is my bloodline! Francis is the father
of my Great Grandfather Timothy Titus Catchings. Timothy was tired of being
mistaken for white so he married a very dark woman, Alice Brown. Together
they had 16 children. It's a very interesting family but I would love to
learn more!
Was Josphine murdered too?
By the way I live in Maryland. Most of my older Catchings relatives still
live in Camilla Georgia. (Mitchell County)

Do you know that Julia Catchings and her sister Josephine Catchings are
supposed to have died on the same day? They are buried on a farm at Ft.
Gaines, Georgia. so I have been told.
