Beal CASWELL m. Pricilla NEWLAND c. 1700's in Bristol Co. Mass.
After
the Rev. War, which he served in, he moved his family to Middletown
Springs, Rutland Co. VT. His father, John, and mother, Mary also moved
with
them and died in Middletown Springs.
This is intriguing! Mary Lee is of CASWELL, and I am of NEWLAND! We
don't see a link to this pair though. (DARN!)
M.L.'s oldest known CASWELL was Walter, b. ca. 1795, New York. He was a
farmer who lived for a time in New Hampshire. He and (unknown) wife were
parents of Edmond S. Caswell, b. 1817, Troy, NY.
My oldest known NEWLAND was: John, b. 1752, and m. 1788, Margaret WARE,
in
Frederick County, VA.
We once (1995) were in contact with a "Caswell Surname Organization", and
Noreen Haler in Grandview, TX. Is that still in existance? We originally
heard of them through
a contact we made on the FidoNet, Mary Middleton. Mary! Are you out
there?
