Well we can relate. We have a name of Thomas as the Father for our Benjamin Caswell whom
doesn't have alot of
information due to his being put on a ship to work after his dad married a woman that was
mean to him. He said she
had red hair and was mean. Looks like the wicked ole step mother caused us not to be able
to find our history since
he had to leave at the age of 12 and wasn't able to contact his family until after the
war. It was at that time he
wrote a letter and got one back from a sister saying their father had passed away. We have
not found much of
anything. Our Benjamin was born in Bristol County, Fall River , MA. His grandfather was
named Samuel and his Father
Thomas and we thought we were the Tautons and we were so excited only to find out that
they have not record of us.
*LOL* So yes we can relate. Bummer, huh. Well maybe one day we will find our tree. Take
care. I just had to respond
to your letter as we have been there , done that and also wore that T-shirt. *LOL* The
Silas Caswell family

Yes - this is the saga of my Caswell line as I logged onto

and was working on my Westgate line. They are from Plymouth and
Rochester(Wareham). Elijah Caswell m. 1833 at Middelboro to Eunice Russell
Hall
* Eunice is the daughter of William Hall and Lucinda Muxham. William
Hall is the son
* of Luke Hall and Elizabeth Westgate - Elizabeth Westgate is probably
the daughter
* of Thomas Westgate and Elizabeth Braley - Elizabeth Braley is
probably the daughter of Ambrose Braley and Mary Reynolds.
Now in regards to Mary Reynolds - I opened her file up and low and behold
she was listed as the daughter of Isaac Reynolds and Dorothy Seekins. Well
.... This made
my eyes pop out of my head as I have suspected that my Elijah Caswell who
m. 1776
to Mercy Seekins that Jotham Caswell was his father. Jotham Caswell also
married Mary Reynolds and this Mary is attributed to be the daughter of
Isaac Reynolds and
Dorothy Seekins. This made me sick.
Ambrose Braley m. Mary Reynolds at Middelboro 18 June 1728.
Jotham Caswell m. Mary Reynolds at Middelboro 11 January 1732
And this is the dissapointment - it looks like one of these marriages is
wrongly
attributed to Isaac and Dorothy.
Yes - its all threads and needlework but I figure somehow my Caswell clan
married
distant cousins and when I find stuff like this I figure it will be the only
clues that I
ever find on this very poor branch of the Caswell tree.
Any comments are most welcome.
