There are two Caswells who fought in the Rev War with this man as their
Captain.
The earliest and first service for Elijah Caswell ( 1751 - 1826 ) the
drummer was 1775.
The second was Abiel Caswell - who also appeared in Capt Haskins Co - no
surprise that Elijah also reported to him as well.
About 1775 Capt Amos Wade married second Mary Richmond - dau of Seth
Richmond and Lydia HASKINS.
In the Richmond Gen - Lydia is dau of William Haskins. On the IGI she is
attributed to Abiel Haskins son of William Haskins.
In 1775 Elijah Caswell was not married - to a certain degree we might be
able to better judge where he lived and who better he may have
surrounded himself with at age 24.
Of note Elkanah Caswell of a previous generation he marries a Haskins
dau to William HASKINS. I suspect him or his brother Jotham Caswell as
the father of Elijah Caswell.
Abiel Caswell who also served in the Regt under Capt Haskins along with
but not at the same time as Elijah Caswell is a son of Elkanah Caswell
and Abigail Haskins dau of William Haskins.
Elijah serves two Captains - one a Haskins and one whose wife's mother
is a Haskins all previous or at or by the time of his enlistment in
1775.
