ever been able to find out any information about his father or sisters. We
have it that his father was Thomas and that he had some sisters but do not
know their names. Benjamin was born May 22 or 28, 1828. There have been a
few that have said that they have information about him and will send it to
us but we have not ever gotten past that. We have asked several times for
them to please send us that information to no avail. So if anyone has
anything that might help to place Ben in a family please let us know. >>
Hi,
The only Benjamin Caswell I have in my files is one who was born on 16
Nov 1675, a little too early for your Benjamin. I have not done a lot with my
Caswells although the line I have comes down to my 3rd g grandmother Fanny
Caswell who m. Geo. Washington Crandall.
I poked around some of my CDs and the only thing I found that was close
was in the CD Massachusetts Vital Records, 1600s-1900s (FTM CD #220) and I
found a reference to a Benjamin F. Caswell's in the records of New Bedford
with a date of May 25, 1825 - the record seems to be partly taken from
newspaper and grave records - this is from the abbreviations used in the
listing. It states "Father /N
(IN LOT WITH ELIZA A. 1822) /NGR 3 - I think that may refer to Oak Grove
Cemetery in New Bedford.
Good luck with your search, Donna
