Kathy, thanks so much for posting your message. I suspect they don't
"belong" directly to me, but I believe they
represent the siblings of someone I have been searching a long time for. My Sylvester B.
Abbott married Maryette
Caswell (born Ithaca, Tompkins Co., NY), daughter of John Caswell (of someplace in New
York) and Clarissa (Clara)
Eastman. I believe you have forwarded valuable clues and I appreciate it. Terrie

Dr. Eli Dimock
February 14, 1847, the doctor married Mar. E., the daughter of Amassa
and Mary (Johnston) Caswell, who was born in Herkimer county, N. Y.; on
April 23, 1825. Her father was born in Warren, N. Y., July 23, 1796,
was a successful farmer, and died October 4, 1847, at Belvidere, Ills.,
to which place he had moved his family in 1850. The mother was born in
Vermont, February 26, 1800, and died in their Illinois home on April 6,
1879. Both were members of the Presbyterian church. Five children
blessed their union, three of whom are still lilving: Mrs. Dimock,
Susan and Mary L.; neither of the later two is married.
The Bio. of Dr. Dimock has a little more information on himself and his
wife if anyone is interested.
Kathy
