I have only one Caswell who married into one of my lines of Grants. This
informaion might help someone. I would also like to know more about them:
Charles E. T. Caswell (1865-1932) and Hattie E.(Grant)Caswell are buried in
Pine Hill Cemetery in New Hampshire along with Frederick T. Grant and
Lucien H. Grant. William T. Caswell, Edna F. Caswell, Viola Caswell and
Edgar T. Caswell are
also there.
My hunch is that Viola Caswell and Edgar T. Caswell are the children
of William T. Caswell and Edna F. Caswell. Viola died at the age of 3
and Edgar died at the age of 6.
The burial sites were owned by Micah Grant, my gggrandfather.
Also buried here are Minnie P. Perrault, Sarah J. Burnham and Muriel
E. Thompson.
Charles was a former Mayor of Dover, NH. This is what I know about that:
Don Melvin wrote:
Charles Caswell was apparently the Mayor of Dover, NH for two terms. On
Jan.5 1927 he mentions being mayor for the second time. In his address of
Jan 2 1929 he said " in retiring from the office of mayor at the end of
seven consecutive years of serive in the legislative and executive
brancjes of our city government.....". He had served on the Board of
Aldermen from Ward 1 prior to becoming mayor.
I hope this helps someone. Please contact me if you have information on any
of these people.
Thank you.
