I have had some good leads to find more information on my Fourth Great
Grandmother Hopestill Haskins whose father was William Hoskins married
to Mary Cole. It appears the William was the fourth William Hoskins to
descend from Henry Hoskins an English Settler to Ireland. It appears
that the second William was married to Sarah Caswell of Taughton, MA.
I tried to answer back to the first person who thought he had
information but my messages keep bouncing that person is:
SamCasey(a)aol.com.
I thought that my Hopestill Hoskins was the granddaughter of Sarah and
William as it turns out she is the Great Granddaughter.
Anyone knowing how to reconnect with Sam please contact me.
Hopestill married Amos Nahum King at New Salem, MA just before or after
the Revolution. Amos is a veteran of that War. Before relocating to New
York in 1785 they had four children. Two daughters the Nahum Amos and
William another 4 to 6 were born in New York.
Amos was living according to a letter written in June 1839 no word of
when Hopestill died.
Merry New Year.
