I have forwarded your letter to the Caswell listserver. Hopefully some of
our members will be in touch with you.
I'm not sure how to look for those other names on rootsweb.
Good luck with your research.

Subject: CASWELL
Hello Mike:
Gary Presson gave me your e-mail address and has sent you a message
about me. I have sent a message today to subscribe to the Caswell list.
Hope it works. Anyway my Caswell is Mary Martha CASWELL she is my Great
Grandmother on my mother's side. Do you have very much information on
the Caswell name? Her father was Charles W. Caswell and he married 26
Nov 1847 in Stark Co Illinois a Christiana Coleman who was previously
married to a William Tener/Tenen. Information I have is that Charles W.
Caswell was born in New York State and Christiana in Pennsylvania. Mary
Martha CASWELL was their second child and she was born in Peoria Co.
Illinois 22 Dec 1853. Charles W. Caswell died in Moline, Illinois.
My mother and her sister are getting on in years and I am trying to
(since they don't know anything much about their forefathers) fill in
some family history for them and of course myself before I am just doing
it for myself. Would you know or have any good suggestions how I could
go about finding out about the Caswell history? I am l guess like a lot
of others on a thin shoestring as far as finances are concerned. Being
in Canada everything I do in the States I can figure will cost me double
what I am quoted by the time I figure in exchange, and bank rates for a
money order etc. What really gets me is when the money order is more
than what is printed on it. :(
On the Rootsweb site would you know if they had these surnames:
Sherwood
Troyer
Gram
Coleman
McCune
Driver
Fitch
I wouldn't mind subscribing to these but don't know what to ask for as I
am not on the Internet. Would I just put the same address as for the
Caswell but exchange Caswell for one of the above? Only problem I don't
know if they are listed on Rootsweb.
Hope you can help me I am new to all this.
