I don't know if you had any response on the Caswell list, but I
didn't see one on Moonrakers, so here goes:
We don't have a mocking bird in England, although starlings can
imitate almost anything (telephone ringing, dog barking, etc have
been recorded).
I tried to download your whistle, but couldn't get it. It insists on
trying to play direct, but since my sound card is in the other
machine it didn't get very far. If you like to send me the file, I'll
have a listen and let you know if I recognise it - I can manage most
reasonably common British birds.
