CASWELL, Norman Stanley - 77, Dartmouth, passed away January 30, 2000,
in the Dartmouth
General Hospital. Born in Pleasant Grove, P.E.I., he was the son of
the late John "Jack" and
Angelina (Burns) Caswell. He served in the Merchant Marines during the
Second World War and
was recognized by the City of Halifax in 1954 for his bravery in saving
23 people in an early morning
house fire. Surviving are his daughters, Carolyn (Mrs. Wayne MacDonald)
and Linda Taylor, both
of Dartmouth; sons, John (Dianne) and Steven (Shelley), all of
Dartmouth; sisters, Mary Lamb,
Ontario; Agnes LeBlanc, Helen Fanning and Alice McKinnon, all of
Prince Edward Island;
grandchildren, Darlene, Lora, Krista, Sean, Michael and Brent;
great-grandchildren, Michael, Gaylin
and Cailina. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Blanche Watts;
daughter, Margaret Daly;
son, Arnold; brothers, Joseph and Jack. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9
p.m. Tuesday, February 1, in
Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Funeral service will
be held in Atlantic Funeral
Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville at 10 a.m., on Wednesday,
February 2. Burial to follow
in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made
to the Missions to Seamen.
