CASWELL, Francis A. MacGregor "Frank"
CASWELL, Francis A. MacGregor "Frank" - 84, Halifax, passed away
Thursday, May 2, 2002, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in
Toronto, he was a son of the late John MacGregor and Marie Ripley. He
served with the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War.
Following the war, he graduated from Kings College with a degree in
Journalism. The majority of his working life was spent as a case worker
with Halifax County Social Services. He was a member of the North
British Society, St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, the Waegwoltic Club and the
Senior Skaters. He was an avid outdoorsman, photographer, artist and
poet. He is survived by his wife, the former Peggy O'Leary; son, Michael
and wife Caroline, Dartmouth; daughters, Judy Caswell, Halifax; Susan
Sampson and husband Paul, Bridgewater; brother, Norman, Port Parry,
Ont.; grandchildren, Daniel, Graham, Edward, Marion and Liam Caswell,
Anna, Anthony and John Sampson. He was predeceased by brother, Raymond.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends 2-4, 7-9 p.m.
today in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, Windsor Street, Halifax. Funeral mass
will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic
Church.
Burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
