No, not yet I haven't. I do appreciate the interest though and appreciate
the answer from Nancy Caswell-Simmons. The only thing I do know for certain
is that Lucy Caswell was born in Rochester, Mass. and is the daughter of
Elijah Caswell and Mary ? Then, of course, I know Lucy married Peleg Briggs
from Wareham, Mass. but the rest is just research and so far nothing has
shown up that is positive. I also know that Lucy moved to Vermont with
Peleg Briggs and later to Cuyahoga (I think is how you spell it) Co. in Ohio
after he drowned. She married Benjamin Scofield there. I found that
marriage in the marriage records of Ohio and it was mentioned in "John
Briggs of Sandwich, Massachusetts" by Edna Anne Hannibal.
There were two Elijahs living next door to each other in Rochester - perhaps
father and son. The marriage of Elijah and Mary Chubbuck, I found in the
LDS records online.
There were so many Elijahs during that period of time. Mary could have been
a second marriage that no one has turned up yet also. Just reasoning
again - or maybe it called guessing.
Thanks again.
