Hi list,
Any help with this deed is greatly appreciated. This was abstracted for my
grandfather back in the 1960's. And I'm trying to find if there was any more of a
connection between the Andersons and Caswells. I do know that a John Anderson married
Cloe Caswell on Oct. 15, 1828 in Tattnall Co.,GA.
On Oct. 24, 1843 in Tattnall Co., GA, John Anderson sold to HARRIET CASWELL, JAMES MARTIN
CASWELL, CLOE ANN JANE CASWELL, ANDREW JACKSON CASWELL, MARJON CASWELL, HARIETT CASWELL
AND MADISON CASWELL, the wife and children of and lawful heirs of FRANCIS N. CASWELL,
dec'd., for $50, 127 acres on the southwest side of the Ohoopee River, granted JACOB
DEES on March 5, 1813, and 50 acres, part of tract surveyed for John Anderson, the full
tract being 100 acres, ....fence where HARRIET CASWELL now lives; thence between fence and
graveyard in the old field to the Ohoopee Swamp...., adjoining land of .....DEES, so as to
include improvements where said HARRIET CASWELL now lived. This is signed by (x) mark by
John Anderson. Witnesses were ELIZA CORSEY, CHIRSTOPHER WIDENCAMP, J.B. STRIPLING.
Deed book DEF, page 187, Tattnall Co., Ga, recorded Feb. 4, 1850.
All help is greatly appreciated!
