I¹ve forwarded your email to the Caswell Listserver, hopefully there are
several members who know more about the NY branches.
I am particularly interested in the letters you have from England. If you
could send me copies or a transcription of them, I will probably be able to
determine where your line came from.
Good luck

Hi Mike, I am just starting my Caswell research on the Caswells of
NY. The
names I am researching are Oscar B. Caswell and
his wife Julie A. I do not know at this time what Julie's maiden name. I
believe Julie was born about 1849 and according to the
census was 31 in 1880. Oscar B. was 34 in the 1880 census. Their last name
was Coswell in that Census
on the computer. They had a daughter Minnie and I am researching for
information regarding her and her parents and family.
Minnie married O. F. Jackson (Orrin F. Jackson). Orrie or Orrin was born in
Maine and marriage date unknown and later
divorced?. He died at Madison Lake or Eagle Lake, Blue Earth Co. Minn I
believe. When they married he was a railroad contractor.
He ran a restaurant in Madison Lake and a boarding house in Eagle Lake at some
point in life. Minnie's parents were living in Mankato, Blue Earth, Minn. in
the 1880 census. I have letters indicating that the family came from England
originally. Haven't
gotten back that far yet. Any light you can shine on this would be most
appreciated. Thank you for your help.
