Hi buelah,
Yes my father was a minister and lived in the fort Myers, Florida area since
moving from Iowa in the 50's.
It's good to hear that he is remembered.
I have 3 sisters in the area,
My brother Joseph Allen Caswell (musician) passed away in Texas 3 years ago
but the remaining siblings are in good shape.
How may we be related?
Benjamin Caswell
I accidently unsubscribed. Please put me back on your list. My maternal Gma
was Bernice Helen CASWELL, born (probably in WA state) in 1902-1904.
According to my mother's birth certificate, Elizabeth Marie YOHE, born
6-01-1928 in Tacoma, Pierce County, WA, Gma (called Helen?) was born in WA
state, was 24, and was white. The birth certificate was filled out by Gpa
Edward YOHE. Gma CASWELL had an older son, Danny, born about 1921, last
name unknown. Supposedly he went to Alaska as a minister and had several
children. Gma CASWELL and Gpa YOHE divorced when my mother was 7, about 1925
with Gpa YOHE retaining custody of his now three children. Twins Donald
Edward and (Dorthy?) Theresa YOHE were born 12-14-1929 in WA state.
Helen Bernice CASWELL was Catholic and enough Native American for my mother
to receive small checks from the government during the 1970's for having NA
blood. These checks were addressed to PRINCESS Marie --------, but were
never cashed.
Gma CASWELL? died of breast cancer during the 1970's. My sister remembers
a funeral being held in Oregon.
to re-iterate. I do not know this Gma's birthdate, place of birth, etc. I do
not know this Gma's last name, date or place of death.
I do know the NA was from her because the YOHE side is documented way, way
back. The Catholic religion was from her also.
I have seen one picture of her in her mid-forties. She was about 180 lbs
with dark eyes and dark straight hair at chin length. Not a sharp dresser
and well endowed. She looked about 5' 6-8" in the photo. Just guessing. My
mother also died of breast cancer.
God Bless You Today, Çantana

I'm researching my Caswell line in Boston. Although these don't really
help me, I thought that they might help someone else.

Laura I don't know. All is know is my Charles W.
Caswell according to a bio was born somewhere in New
York State. He married Christiana Tener but her birth
name was Coleman. She was born in York Co.Pa. Her
family moved to Illinois and that is where Charles W.
Caswell appears marrying Christiana in Stark Co.
Illinois. According to this same bio he died in Moline,
Illinois. Charles W. Caswell and Christiana Coleman had
a daughter Mary Martha Caswell. Mary Martha is my great
grandmother. She was born in Moline Illinois 22 Dec.
1852. I don't know if there were any other children
born to this couple. I do not know if he was in the
Civil War, I don't know much of anything.
One other thing I should mention it might not mean
anything but this same information finally broke a
brick wall I had on another line and I don't want to
make the same mistake again. Mary Martha married
William Minor Sherwood in Kansas. The Sherwoods were
from Illinois before Kansas and before Illinois they
were living in Saratoga Co. New York. It has made me
think that maybe Charles W. Caswell might have been
from Saratoga Co. as well but that is only speculation.
I am despertly hoping someone finds something in this
that matches one of their Caswells.

Was he born in New York and than went to Canada and later went to Illinois
with family??? That is what happen to my Caswell. Do you know if he was in
the Civil War????
Laura
I was wondering if anyone might have some information
to help me with this brick wall.
I have a Charles W. Caswell who married Christiana
Tener on 26 Nov 1847 in Stark Co. Illinois. This was
Christiana's second marriage as she was born Christiana
Coleman and married William Tener 21 Sept 1840 in Stark
Co. Illinois.
I have a biography of another family member that stated
that Charles W. Caswell was from New York.
I have tried so hard to find Charles family and have
had no luck at all.
I was hoping someone might have him in their database
and might help me out.
Any information greatly appreciated.

Which link sends you to the Hicks site?
The relatives.doc file is very large. 1.3mb - so it will take a LONG time
on a phone line.
