Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I've checked through the database, and I think this line may be connected to the Wiltshire Casswells.

Hey folks,
I think I may of found a link. I have found a Mary Augusta that is close to the time you gave me. I'll let you know more.
TC
Thanks for your email. I've forwarded this to the Caswell listserver, and I suggest you join this useful list.
I'd be interested in seeing whatever you have on your line.
My family name was Carswell in the early 1600s, so the variations are just spelling errors by church clerks over the centuries.
Have you discovered who your gt grandfather was yet?

We just returned from a week of research in Vermont, where I concentrated on
trying to find out about my gggrandfather Seth Caswell. Here is what I
learned.
He was born in Grafton, New Hampshire on March 22, 1809. This should make
him the son of Thomas Caswell and Susanna Wing, but I could not verify that.
He was married first to Fina (I have seen this as Phina and Tina, also)
Roundy, and they resided in Stockbridge, Windsor County, Vermont. They
definitely had a son named Bingham b ca 1837, who had a son Doctor Charles
Emerson of New York City. Bingham married Hester Ann Emerson, who was born
in Pittsfield, Vermont. Seth and Fina seemed to have had other children -
Charlotte b ca 1834, Frances Diana b ca 1840, Royal b ca 1843, Willard Seth
b ca 1845, and Harriett b ca 1849.
They must have divorced in the mid 1850s, because Seth married my
ggrandmother Luthera Emerson of Hyde Park, Vermont before 1854. My
ggrandmother Julia Frances Caswell was born on 30 September 1854 in
Braintree, Vermont. At some time they must have lived in Braintree, in Hyde
Park, in Stockbridge and finally in Barnard, all in Vermont, because I can
find them in the census for 1860, 1870 and 1880 and on birth records for all
of those towns. When they lived in Stockbridge, they may have been very
close to the townline for Barnard, so they may not have actually physically
moved, but the census taker from the other town may have got to them first.
They eventually ended-up being called of Barnard, because on February 12,
1886, Seth shot and killed Luthera. I found an account of this in the
Rutland Herald edition of Feb. 13, 1886. She had gone to work (live also)
at the George Evans house. No account of whether she was actually leaving
him for George. It implies that she was going to be a live-in maid with the
family. Seth didn't like this and got his gun and three weeks later went to
the Evans place and shot her. It stated that he was arrested. I did not
find what ever became of him, where/when he died, where he is buried,
nothing. Likewise, I have not been able to locate where Luthera is buried.
I did find that Bingham and his Mother Fina are buried in the cemetery at
Gaysville, Vermont in adjoining graves. Neither has a spouse there. At
first I thought that Hester Ann Emerson was the sister of Luthera, making
Luthera her sister's mother-in-law. I am not sure of this, because there
seem to be two Emerson families, both with the names Thomas and Mary Ann,
who lived in both Hyde Park and Stockbridge in 1850. Weird!! Could they
have had homes in both areas and been counted twice? How did Seth a
longtime Stockbridge resident suddenly meet up with the young Luthera (she
was 26 years younger than he) and dump his wife, if they didn't live near
each other? There must be some really interesting story with all of this.
Can anyone out there connect with any of these people? I would love to find
out the "rest of the story", as Paul Harvey would say.
Thanks for your time in reading all of this.
