Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

I am researching the Caswells of NC and Governor Richard Caswell is the
man I work for ancestor. Do you have a birth date on Richard Slaney Caswell
who married Elizabeth Smith? He is Governor Richard's grandfather.
Thanks,
Cindi Helton
If I can be any help on dates please let me know. I like to exchange info to
others if I can help.

I hope these names mean something to someone. They are registered as being
buried in the Colusa Community Cemetery, in Colusa, California. Since these
were passed on to me by someone who was being helpful, I don't know what the
numbers mean, but they are probably from the following URL

OK - Are we talking Worden, as in Worden Place on Harvey's Lake in Dallas,
PA? If so, I may have more Caswells who slipped away from the farm around
186-something and found their way into NE PA.
Thomas Caswell, who up to this point, is listed as being from England,
settled his family in Hawley, Wayne Co., PA, and then they went into Luzerne
Co. Thomas, however, slipped away from his wife - divorce or death? - and
took on a new family and headed to Linn Co., Missouri.
My line is in PA, and I have Adeline, his daughter, as the ancestor. I just
can't link my Caswells up solidly, although I did think I found a hook in
Stafford.
Where in PA are you linked?
Gwyneth

Charles Irving??? Does Irving happen to be a family name? My dad's father's
name was Irving Ellsworth Caswell, (my dad was born 1911 in Mass.) and I
can't find ANYBODY who has anything about Irving. I'm sending for his death
certificate to see if that gives me a clue.
If anybody has anything on Irving, please let me know.
WOW! Samuels and Andrews! Your line has to be connected to the Canadian
Caswell line, as in Shirley Mayse' book. From Tipperary, and with names like
Samuel and Andrew, there just has to be a connection. This is very
exciting.
Where did you get this information from?
I've added the data to the Caswell CD..

Great message. We appreciate Mike also. He does so much for all of us. Thanks
Mike. We really enjoy the Caswell list. We even enjoy reading about other
Caswell's. You never know we just might find what we are looking for someday.
Cheers to all of you!

Mike, I'm including below a copy of your instructions on unsubscribing.
For what it's worth, as the author of software manuals and help systems, I'm
afraid you're fighting a losing battle expecting people to a) keep the
instructions, b) remember where they kept them, and c) realize that this is
their responsibility and not that of someone else.
Please don't get me wrong, I'm on your side here! I really appreciate what
you're doing and agree a hundred percent that you shouldn't have to perform
this silly task which others should do for themselves. That said, however,
realistically it just ain't going to happen.
May I make a (hopefully)constructive suggestion that might help? Here's some
suggested wording that you could use as a preface to your unsubscribe
instructions to each "please remove me" message:
QUOTE:
Dear CASWELL list subscriber,
I saw your recent request to be deleted from the CASWELL list. You may
recall that at the time you subscribed to the list, you were given
instructions on how to unsubscribe. Perhaps you've mislaid those
instructions, so I'm repeating them below for your convenience. Please
understand that it is the nature of the software that maintains this type of
list to require individual subscribers to remove themselves. This isn't an
arbitrary policy on my part and nobody's trying to make your life
unpleasant. It's just the way it is, so please don't fight it! The bottom
line here is that you signed up, and by so doing, agreed to these
conditions. You now have two options, follow the instructions provided below
(which are really very simple), or continue receiving messages from the
list. Thanks for your participation in the list and for your co-operation.
UNQUOTE
What do you think? You could just send this standard message to every
"remove me" request and save yourself frustration (of which you'll certainly
have an ample supply from such fun tasks like upgrading to Windows 2000!).
Again, thanks a million for all you've done and continue to do with the
list, the web page, the CD and ongoing Caswell research. We Caswells don't
appreciate your work near enough.
Have a great day!

That won't do it. You have to unsub the same way you subbed.
And I won't do it for you.
Sorry!
Does anyone have a copy of my 'sub/unsub' instructions? I had a major hard

Hi
I am very much an amateur at this. I am one of five Caswell siblings. Our
father was Edward Charles Caswell (only child), born Farnham, Surrey 1924.
His parents were Charles and Mable (nee Vince) Caswell.
"Charlie" was one of nine Caswell children and their parents were Frederick
and Mary Jane (nee Rolfe) Caswell.
Frederick's parents were Charles (popular name in the Caswell family!) and
Sarah Rolfe. These last three generations were all from Kingsclere, Surrey.
Frederick Caswell had been married once before but I don't have a name at
present. However, they had 5 children (2 sons who may have died young and 3
daughters).
Does this ring any bells with you?
