I have John R. Caswell, born 20 April 1820, Exeter, Otsego County, NY., to
Levi Caswell and Asenath Hubbard. The date isn't too far off, but the middle
initial is different.
I'm at work, and haven't been able to check the Caswell CD (which I have at
home), so perhaps someone else can still do that for you. Let me know if you
think John R. might be your man.
Good luck, Tom Caswell (Thomas Hubbard Caswell III)

I received this from another list:
We maintain a Michigan Marriage Index Database which has many
records in which the county where the marriage took place is
UNKNOWN. We would appreciate it very much if someone could
identify the county in which the following marriages took
place.
CHARLES C CASWELL,IDA - CASWELL?,-- ABT 1896
EVA LOUISE CASWELL,DANIEL WIXSON CLINE,19 DEC 1900
IDA - CASWELL?,CHARLES C CASWELL,-- ABT 1896
I thought this line very interesting. These Caswells sure get around. My
Elijah Caswell
b. 1751 d. 1820 of Middleboro is still unplaced. His grandson Elijah Caswell
m. Eunice Russell Hall daughter of William Hall and Lucinda Muxham. The
Muxhams siblings married into
the Chubbucks. At any rate Lucinda is the daughter of Reuben Muxham and
Jemima Russell. All the Muxhams are descended from Samuel Muxham who m.
Hannah Freeman
and has the same lineage to the Prences and the Brewsters as below. Small
world.
If i had to say who of the Caswells i think my Elijah might descend from
would possibly
be Jotham Caswell as his wifes mother was a Seekins and my Elijah Caswell
marries
a Seekins.
Elijah Caswell and Mercy Seekins children.
Elijah,Daniel,Henry,George,Abiathar,Lawson,Lois.

George William Caswell died in Odessa, Texas today around 5 p.m.
central time. He had a stroke on his and Etha's 65th wedding anniversary
. He was in the hospital for awhile and then put in a nursing home
recently as he did not know anyone and was bed ridden. This is the Uncle
of Silas Wayne Caswell and Janie Wideman that is on the Caswell list.
George William Caswell is the 6th child of Homer and Lona Caswell, and
the grandson of George Washington and Nancy Savannah (Adams) Caswell,
and the great grandson of Benjamin Franklin and Charity Ann (Jackson)
Caswell. We have no details of funeral arrangements at this time.
Thanks,
Silas Wayne Caswell

Sorry I haven't got back to you before, but January is our big holiday time in

back burner! I hope your family all had a great Christmas and celebrated the
New Year in an appropriate way.
I would certainly be glad to see any work you have done on your computer and
look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks. I have already purchased the Caswell CD. I had forgotten about it.
I have been "out of commission" for a number of months now (back surgery). I
appreciated your reply Mike. Mae
Finally - after looking through everything I brought home, it was in the
last envelope. Doesn't it always happen that way? Here is the Caswell
information I promised to send to all of you that gave so many Caswell names
and dates.
It is called "Caswell Enclyclopedia" and I didn't put down how many volumes
there were but I think there were five. The names were in alphabetical
order so the volume would depend on which name you wanted. Elijah was in
Volume I and there were several listed. The book was compiled by "The
Caswell Surname Organization", Copyright 1998 (so it hasn't been out for too
long).
The two names put in for information were:
Noreen E. Haler
310 Lakeview Drive
Grand Prairie, Texas
75051-4916
and
M. Joan Smith
HC3, Box 121
Cottonwood, ID
83522-9408
Hope this helps all of you to find your Caswell ancestors as it did me.
Good luck.

message: I am looking for information about Mr. Warren Caswell who died in Kearney, Nebraska, on March 2, 1914.
It seems that Mr. Caswell married my ancestor, Catherine Waples, after her husband died in 1890. In the Kearney Cemetery there is a Catherine Waples Caswell buried in the WAPLES family plot, who supposedly died in 1902. Then there is a Katherine Caswell, buried in the CASWELL plot, who supposedly died in 1913. The thing is that we have an obituary for our Catherine who says she died in 1913. Surivors match our family.
Needless to say we are confused and could use any help that we can get. Can anyone shed some light?
