Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Seeing as there are so many old Cazzy photos around, why don't we have a
photo gallery?
Please send them to me, and I'll include them on the next CD.
Actually, you could almost send back you old CD and I could place the photos
on there, but lets get a gallery first!
Send them in jpg format if possible.

Thanks, Nancy. Yes this helps. *smile* This has been kind of frustrating at
times as we have had so many dead ends. I hope that one opens soon and we can
find out all that we need to know about Ben's parents. Steve Caswell and Janie
Wideman have been the most help with information about Ben so far. They have had
all of the information about him living in Georgia and our family line from
there. However, none of us know much about him before his living in Georgia. It
is recorded that our Benjamin Franklin's father was named Thomas. There are alot
of Thomas' out there also. We've (my own family) have kind of just given up on
ever finding out. If there is a door to be opened then it will have to be God
that opens it because so far it has been a dead end. Thanks for your help,
Nancy.

I see the question of Benjamin Foster possibly being Benjamin
Franklin.....Just so you all don't chase any dead ends....Benjamin FOSTER
Caswell was born 1831 and died 1838 in Middleboro...this information was
extracted from the Middleboro town record books. Benjamin, Sr & his wife
Lydia Miller Wood, stayed in Middleboro. Ben Sr died in 1874 there. They
only had 2 children: Benjamin Foster who died at the age of 7 and Washington
Irving who grew up, married, fought in the Civil War and died of wounds he
received during a battle. He did marry a local girl (Lizzie Keith) and they
had one daughter Emma.
I hope this can clear some confusion for those of you working on this line.
Nancy
We too have had this problem with Benjamin Franklin Caswell. In fact you must
be our relative as we have the same story as we have. We have not been able to
find out who his parents were exactly. Our Benjamin Franklin Caswell's mother
died and his father remarried and put Ben on a ship. It seems that we have not
gotten any answers or help from anywhere. He had to be related to the
Caswell's in MA as he was born there. Is it possible that Benjamin Foster
Caswell was actually Benjamin Franklin Caswell? We thought that we had gotten
somewhere but really we have not gotten anywhere as to who his parents were.
It seems to have been a closed door. We are your relative and I have names and
addresses of several of your other relatives. Like you we know what happened
to Benjamin after he got to Georgia from MA but we have not found who his
parents were. I hope that someone can help us. Silas Wayne Caswell

The person to talk with about Bejamin Franklin Caswell is Steve Caswell
(sfc(a)uunet.uu.net). He has a wonderful manuscript of this line. In fact,
Steve's grandfather looks just like mine (he had a wonderful picture
included in the manuscript) and we're not directly related...but you can
bet we're probably INdirectly related!!

I have had a quick look at the caswell Surname Org data on our CD and found
this:-
WILLIAM KARSWELL, b. c1615, came to VA, 8/10/1635 (age 20), on ship SAFETY
(Descendants of Wm. Caswell of Lower Norfolk, VA, p.xi, 929.273,279cm, SLC)
Unfortunately, I don't have the time to do all these individual lookups.
You'll find hundreds of WiIliam Caswells on this CD.
see www.moonrakers.com/caswell
for more details
I have forwarded your message to our Caswell Listserver.
Thanks!
