Some of the US census have been proven wrong on spelling, age and place of birth. My
grandmother was a midwife and a faith healer for many years. She named quite a number of
my relatives after her siblings and names similar to theirs. She was known to be of
American Indian ancestry. She married my grand father at an early age between 13 or 14 in
New Mexico while my grandfather was passing thru the area. He showed up at her
family's inn or boarding house after delivering some type of livestock. She died
September 27 1959 at age 73 in Alice Texas and buried in Benavides Texas cemetery. She was
married and widowed three times surnames Garza, Morales and Gonzales and had children by
Garza and Morales. She lived in Roswell New Mexico, Rio Grande City, Falfurrias, Benavides
and Alice Texas of known places. All of us in her family revered, respected, loved her and
she was quite instrumental in our upbringing. Hopefully you can add some information of
her siblings and their offspring!
