Ahhh Ken......glad you're back.
Yeah, I'm really getting excited now! Of course, we lived in Jersey for 20
years and I was in and out of Philly a lot....so all the regular tourist-y
things aren't important to me on this trip. It's Germantown, I want to
see....and of course, the area down south of the airport in Chester Co.
where my OTHER ancestor (Dutton) settled during that same time - also at Wm
Penns urgings.
The map you mentioned interests me.....is it like the one in the Paulus'
book?? I'm not too clear on this.....was Paulus one of those first 13
shown on that map?? No, No No........he didn't arrive till almost 1700 so
he woulnd't be on that early map, right? Let's see.....he had 50
acres....but do we know where it was? Other than from a white oak to a
fence post to a large rock!!
I've gotta read this over again and get it straight in my head! (Remember,
I'm doing a fast 'catch up' here.)
OK....now this cemetery.....it's right close to the Hist. Soc??? And how
is it connected to our family?? Some of "us" buried there? I'm foggy on
that one too.
And the SCHOOL.......need to know about that too. Was it in Germantown or
closer in to Philadelphia? From the book, it sounds like its more "in
town."
Pictures?? Can you scan and send them to me as attachments?
(do you have a scanner?)
By the way.....I sent you a "library book order." Think all my spare time
is gonna be filled up in the next few weeks!
Oh yes....the cemetery where Arnold is buried.....I need to get some
directions on that one too......think it's more up towards Bucks Co.
My PA. map is a little tattered. May have to upgrade!!
OK....keep in touch....and let me know if you think of anything or anyplace
else I should see. The library is open Tues so I've got that day put
aside.
we'll talk again.....phyllis
