Hello,
Forgive me for nosing in here, but our family's spelling of CUSTER was
KAESTER, which is not that different from KOESTER. Castor Assoc. doesn't
'recognize' officially either of the latter 2 spellings but I definitely
link to the CUSTERs there.
I realize this will only confuse the issue, but I've been working lately
on-line, Rootsweb, in the PA counties of Lehigh, Berks, etc., where there
are lots of KISTLERs. It hadn't occurred to me that my KAESTERs, who I
really haven't focused on yet there, might be related to the KISTLERs - not
that they are, but who knows .. ! We were focusing on KISTLER properties
because we'd read that one of the old cemeteries might have been located
there. Haven't resolved that yet.
I realize the above revelations may be meaningless, but some revelations are
good, aren't they? w.

I am very sorry but those names are not part of our Castor family. All of
the Castors' who we are searching for are from Oregon and Washington.

It has been about 3 years since I sent approximately this same
message.
Hope there might be a new member who can connect. I am specifically
looking
for information on Barbara Ellen Kister from PA, b1831, who shows up married
to William Graham, also from PA, b 1821, in the
1860 Livingston Co., KY census. They have children Rebecca E., b 1849
in
Ohio, Arrillia(or Marilla Ann), b May 1, 1854 at Hopewell Furnace,
Livingston Co.,
KY,
Pennsylvania(sic), b 1856, KY, and James Nicholes( my grandfather ) ,
b
June 5, 1859, Livingston Co. KY, married Jane Frances Gleason in Victoria,
British Columbia, Canada on July 26, 1886, and d Mar. 2, 1926 in Iuka, MS.
My best
guess at this time is that Barbara Ellen Kister might be a daughter
of Nicholas Kister who is in the Clinton Co., PA, Lamar Township 1840
Census. Have not found another record of this Nicholas Kister nor an 1850
Census record for Barbara Ellen and William Graham.
William Hardin Graham
