Again, THANKS SO MUCH! I think we might have "recruited" another future
CAOA member - but, if not, at least we've found another "cousin" and one
who's
serving our country in Iraq! What are the odds of meeting someone over here
- total stranger at first - who turns out to be related (no matter how distant
it is)? I still can't believe it!
MAJ Crews (John E.) is also a member of
geneology.com and said he had only
met ONE person [ Jane Glenn <jglenn(a)midsouth.rr.com> ]there that even had any
info on the CREWS and now he's probably received more info than he'd EVER
thought possible. He said that he also knew Jane previously.
The 2 .jpg files you sent re: the articles came through fine. However, they
wouldn't print out as a page. Therefore, I had to let him read them on
line. When he does come over to the Mayor's Cell (where my office is), it's only
to make an official call to his staff back in the USA and has to go right
back to the Iraqi side. Anyway, if you could somehow attach those two files so
I can manipulate them and print them on a page, that would be terrific!
Also, he's VERY interested in more info on the CUSTER side. Like I
mentioned, he met BG John Custer briefly and I'm pretty sure he'd like to make a
"connection" there. He also mentioned that BG Custer doesn't like to talk
too
much about his genealogy - "He's too busy." Which, I'm thinking he
doesn't want
to talk about it because he probably doesn't know for sure his exact
relationship to the "other" general. He mentioned to MAJ Crews that he was
related
through Gen George's uncle - so am I !!!
Isn't this fun?!?

Ken,
I have made contact with 2 CREWS/CUSTER researchers, and I have given
Major CREWS' email address to them. They will be contacting him and
hopefully find more cousins!
Many thanks for passing along this info and for allowing us to get
involved in finding his ancestors.
We're proud of all of you!
