Don't know if my last message made it out, but the German word
for
miller is muller (with two dots over the u). Jo's answer is absolutely
correct for the meaning of Kuster (with two dots over the u) - it means
sexton or sacristan. "u" with two dots is called umlaut and is
pronounced a little like ue - it is difficult for a non native to
pronounce perfectly.

There is the player for the Giants, Bill Mueller, who does pronounce it
"Miller"
but up near Johnstown, we all had pronounced "Custer" as "Cooster",
when I say that here in Virginia, people question it, always think it should be like Gen
George "Cuss-ter".
