well most of all of them are "buried" at LBH including GAC. By the time the
reburial team got there in 1877, everything had been dug up and scattered by
scavengers. Bones were everywhere. An attempt was made to rebury some of them
on the spot but not having a forensics team with them, bones just got jumbled.
A few soldiers remained "intact" until recent digs. But just about everyone
who died there has some of them buried beneath the obelisk, even if "bodies"
were moved the next year.
Tom Custer is buried at Leavenworth along with 2-3 others. Boston Custer is
buried in the family plot in Monroe (Tom's will specifically stated he wanted
to be buried at Ft. Leavenworth) Some of GAC is at West Point but most likely
only a skull, some vertebrae and part of a collar bone -- it was barely enough,
in the words of a journalist there, to fill a hat box.
