I found this in a database I have but have no other information except
what is written here. The data was probably taken from the census and you
probably already have this information.

My Custers settled in Wayne Co, IN in 1820/1. Gen George Custer's gr/gf,
Emanuel Custer, is a brother to my gggg/gf, Johannes Custer (he died in
Clermont Co, OH)
According to my FTM database the General and I are third cousins three times
removed. Good luck in your search for your Custers

Subject: [CASTOR-L] Custer, Cooster, Kuster
My Custer ancestors are: Martha Anna Custer (1863-1958)
< Casper Cooster (abt. 1830-?) < John Kuster (abt. 1794-?).
Casper and John immigrated from Switzerland and settled in Otter Creek Twp.,
Ripley Co., Indiana, where Martha Anna was born.
All my information came from 1860, 1870 and 1880 census records, Ripley Co.,
Indiana. I was unable to locate them on the 1850 census.
Does anyone have more information on these people?
Any ideas on what Church they belonged to?
Thank you
