I was hoping you might give us more information to go on. Do you have dates for
your 2gr-grandparents or an area or State where your 3gr-grandmother, Mary Jane,
was known to have been? Either or both of those would help tremendously.
I have Peter P. Lohr b. about 1832, married Mary Jane Custer, b. abt. 1840.
Mary Jane was the daughter of David Custer and Margaret Stark, buried in
Bittinger cemetery,
Bittinger, Garrett Co., Md. David b. 1811 and Margaret are my 3gr-grandparents.
Also, have a Mary J. Custer b. abt. 1870 m. R. A. Ravenscroft, dgtr. of Rebecca
Friend d. 10/14 1870 in childbirth (prob. with
Mary J.?), 31 yrs, first wife of Emanuel Custer b. 1839 Garrett Co., Md.
Emanuel was the son of David Custer & Margaret Stark..
Does this help?
Regards,
Carolyn

Jane Kaister, I had a look to see if there was a Kaister mailing list, but
there wasn't, so i chose to subscribe to this one, I will post my interests
in my next message.
I have never seen that spelling, but it may well be related. We have Kister,
Koster, Custer, Kusterd, Kuester, Kester, Custard, Kustard, Kistard, Kister,
Gerster, Caster, Castor, Kaster, Kastor, Kiester, Koester, Keister but no
Kaister.
