Hi Sandi, I can understand your frustration. You are correct the list
is for helping one another find their ancestors and sharing information
to further that purpose.
I just searched through the Castor Association Archives and did not find
any information on your family. (I searched the Castor-L list archives
to find who you are looking for since I don't get a chance to monitor
the notes as they come in on the list.)
I am sure that anyone who has information would have contacted you by
now. Please don't give up hope. I too am looking for my g-grandfather
Teas and have not found a clue yet. But I won't quit trying. If you do
find the slightest clues be sure to send them to the list because it
might ring a bell with someone.
Even though we don't have any information on your family in our archives
you may want to join CAOA. Your information would go into the archives
and you can post queries in our newsletter the News-Caster which is
distributed to about 25 major genealogy research libraries.

I would like to ask you a question. I have been on the list for over a year,
hoping against hope that eventually I would recognize something in queries or
statements from others regarding possibilities of my Castor origins, since I
was not able to find a crack in my brick wall. I also belong to four or five
other lists for other names I am researching in my quest to put together a
family history for my kids.
I have to comment that the Castor list is the one list in all that I have
short or long term subscribed to, that does not seem to have a helpful
interraction, which is part of what I thought the purpose was...to work
together. I have posted queries and never had a reply, response, or question
from other listers. There does not seem to be a desire to help or have
interraction of suggestions. This is not an effort to have anyone do
anything for me at all. This is not the spirit nor the intent of any of the
other lists, as well. I have done "legwork" in California for others, I have
walked a cemetery for another, totally unrelated to me or anyone I know or am
researching. I simply answered their query and felt I could help someone out.
After much consideration, I guess I will unsubscribe.
Best of luck in whatever it is this list is hoping to accomplish. If I do
find my information, I will be happy to post it to the Castor page on
GenForum in hopes it may help someone else out.
