Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Hi Grace,
Two great pictures. Is this the couple that got
killed by a train? I owe you a few pictures too.
Gee, I carried them on our trip to give you and
completely had forgotten about them.

Dear Patricia,
I am a member, but not sure if I asked for the list when I joined. If
not, what must I do to receive it? Also, I dropped you a note in the
past about getting what information the CAOA has on my line. I believe
you said you would forward my request to someone and records are being
organized. I am very anxious to see if there are any other family
members from Hermanus, son of Paulus, to John Sr. to John Jr. Can you
tell me what the current status is? Thanks much.
Regards,
Linda Parker
Dear Cousins, Would you please check this for me and send me any
corrections? I could not find documentation for the exact dates in some
instances. If you have the documentation which would make some dates
exact would you please share with me? I would be happy to share the
sources for any dates I do have.
All best wishes, Grace

Hi everyone, I am working on the new Directory for the
association. I ran a list and found that 75% of the members
of the list are also CAOA members. I decided to reach out
for some help.
I have discovered by reviewing the directories from past
years that some lineages have remained the same. So if you
have discovered new information about your ancestors I would
be happy to update the directory.
Please send via the list that way it goes into the archives.
When other researchers that are not on the list search the
archives, they will be able to find you. I do hope that you
are sharing information via the list because if we send it
to the person only it doesn't get to the archives so that
others can find you.
What I need for the directory can be sent like this:
oldest known ancestor dob dod
descendant dob dod
descendant dob dod
continue until you reach yourself
please don't include dob of living individuals.
Remember to be included in the directory your CAOA dues have
to be current. If you haven't ordered your directory it is
$3.00. So if you are so inclined please get your order in
soon. Your order may just be the one that will help us to
take advantage of the considerable savings of bulk mail. We
currently are a little shy of the 250 required for bulk
mailing.
FYI
I am working on a new format for the directory. There will
be an index listing the members and what page they will be
on.
It will look like this:(Just a sampling)
1.1.1.1 Paulus Kuster 1644-1708: Arnold Kuster 1669-1739:

I'm new to the Castor list and the CAOA so recently sent my line of descent
and have no additions or corrections. However, as Patricia says, the
following will be in the archives should anyone be interested.
Since my ancestor, Catherine (CUSTER) RUNYAN, is not a proven daughter of
Conrad (ca 1695-1772), but is traditionally and circumstantially believed to
be his child, I will begin my lineage with her. Even though the CUSTER
surname in my line also ends with Catherine (and sorry Patricia, this is more
info than necessary) I don't want to pass up an opportunity to get these
surnames "out there"!
Thanks,

Harry A. Castor Jr.
Finleyville man veteran of Korean War
Harry A. Castor Jr., 70, of Finleyville, died Monday, May 10, 1999, in
Monongahela Valley Hospital.
He was born August 7, 1928, in Houston Run, Union Township, a son of
Harry A. and Ethel Thompson Castor.
Mr. Castor was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving as a
corporal.
He previously worked at the U.S. Steel coke plant in Clairton.
He was a member of Jefferson Hills Bible Church, AARP and Coin
Collectors Club 69 of McKeesport.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Milslagle Castor; two sons, Harry A. III
and Mark Castor, both of Finleyville; four daughters,
Marianne Bevan of Las Vegas, Nev., Debra Gainer of Jefferson Hills, Kim
Vargo of Charlotte, N.C., and Christine Castor of
Pittsburgh; two brothers, Wilfred Castor of New Eagle and Charles Castor
of Donora; and five sisters, Margery Wilcox of
Elizabeth, May Edwards of Bentleyville, Frances Leech of New Eagle, and
Norma Hicks and Carol Lasich, both of Jefferson
Hills.
Deceased is a daughter, Robin.
I happened to be visiting my mother in Wichita last Monday and the tornado
came within a mile of her home. We had large marble-sized hail with a lot
of wind and no rain, then the storm came. Luckily neither she nor my
brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews (all Kester descendants) were
affected. So at least this branch of the family was untouched. There are
other Kesters (unrelated as far as I know) in Wichita. Don't know what part
of the city they live in. Denise Kester

I am searching for the parents of Edith Myrtle Castor, born approx 1800s,
probably PA. She married Arthur R. Force (in Michigan?) approx 1900-1911.
My Dad is Arthur R. Force Jr. b. 1921, youngest child. Oldest child b. 1912.
Any information or hints on where to go would be wonderful. Daddy just
doesn't know anything about his Mom's family.
THanks!

Dan,
The way I received the URL it was so long that the last three characters,
tml, were not underlined and in blue and were continued below the line. I
had to highlight the entire URL, copy it to clipboard and paste it into my
browser's place for typing in URL's. It worked. I got to that site.
Bernie
Hi Dan, if you put in http://192.204.74.2 you will get to
the homepage. Then you will have to search for the rest of
what you are looking for. On the homepage at the bottom is
a button "Contact Us". You can send them this url and they
will be able to help you with it.

I complained to ebay about this and they assured me that the items were
removed from their sale list. That doesn't mean more won't reappear. If it
happens again we should contact every veterans group we can.

WOW....Christina........
Sarah Custard was MY Fifth great-grandmother !!!
I descend through her son Stephen Miller thru his daughter Nancy
Miller.......and on down thru Nancy's family, the Chaffins - who were
Ohioans.
How nice to have a new cousin!
Tell me your line!
I'll dust off the Miller's and we can compare dates etc.
Don't know if I'll have anything you DON'T have....but let's find out!
Phyllis in Atlanta
