Below is a entry I copied and pasted from it. There were
more listings for Arnold & Conrad Custard. The book is called

THREADED LIST ARCHIVES ARE NOW AVAILABLE. Now you can read
122,813 messages from 877 mailing lists using your Web
browser by
visiting <http://archiver.rootsweb.com/>. All those messages
are
from just three months of beta tests -- watch this archives
grow
with its public debut.
This is a remarkably comfortable way to browse through the
posts
that have been made to the lists. Be sure to use the
integrated
search engine to find what you are looking for.
To use the Archiver you will need to pick a user name and
password and you will need to accept a cookie. The reason
for
passwords and cookies is to keep spammers' e-mail address
harvesters *out* of the archives. Because of this
password-and-
cookie feature, listowners can set up lists to be archived
with
confidence that they are *not* exposing posters' addresses
to
spammers. We encourage all RootsWeb listowners to visit the
Archiver and then include their lists in the archives.
The next step is to start making old list messages
available.
Thanks to Marc Nozell for implementing the threaded
archives.
It's great work.

A copy of the marriage of Aret Kusters to Gerdrut Conrats is reproduced
in "The Descendants of Paulus and Gertrude Kusters" published by the
Castor Association of America. This may also be found on microfilm from
the FHL. Perhaps a descendant of Conrad would send you further proof of
his birth. I do not have any proof of his birth.
All best wishes, Grace

According to the chart on my wall, Conrad's dad was married first to Rebecca
Nuysum. His second wife was Gertrude Conrads and they were married 24 June,
1691. Conrad was born in 1695. Hope this helps.

Hi Everyone,
Does anyone else descend from John Jr. and Magdalena Funk? I am trying
to find a starting place for finding them in the 1850 census. Also, I
am still looking for Christian, their son, in 1850.
Thanks for the help.
Sincerely,
Linda Parker
Here is a page I wrote about my Great Grandfather Custer. Just wanted
all the members of the Castor list to know that you can find free web
sites on the internet and even free lessons so that you could make web
reports on your ancestors. Then Patricia could just add the link to the
Castor web site.

Yes, the information previously sent to the newslist as 1850 Census is an
error; this is the corrected entry for 1860 census:
1) US Census of 1860 - Illinois reel 199, Page 110 & 111 (also marked P
800 in pen)
Pontiac Village, Livingston County, Illinois
Custer, Israel 39, flouring miller, no real estate,
personal prop. 500, born:
Penn.
, Rebecca 24, born Penn
, Charles 12, att. School, born Penn
, Laura 8, att. School, born Penn
I apologize for the error and thank the several people who questioned
the information. It would be so nice to have a printer readily available
at the Natn. Archives facilities, so key records could be "xeroxed".
Yes, the Chicago area office has one to serve the 20-30 microfilm
readers, but the days I've been there it happened to be either down
for repairs, or with a waiting line 10-12 people long. Yesterday,
I got to use it for the first time, but I ended up recording much of
the information by hand also, because the copy was so hard to read.
Such is life. (I wonder if there could be a way to shoot just one less
missile at Serbia and use the money saved to buy an additional new
printer with a service contract for each Natn Archives location?
Just a wish . . . )

I'm looking for information on Carrie Custer. They only thing I know about her is
that she was born around 1889, married Albert Blain Catron in 1907, had one
child--Morris Richard Catron (B 2-29-1908) and died in 1909. I know that her
husband was born and died in Mt Carmel, Illinois, so I suspect that she too was
from this area.
Thanks for any information.
Jeanne Catron
Hi Linda and Garry: I'm off to the Archives tomorrow to check that
reference. I was looking at all the years and may have recorded the info
under the wrong one. I'll send results to the list; thanks for pointing out
the problem.
Linda, regarding dates -- yes, you may be right about Israel's age. On the
other hand, ages certainly seem to vary on the census. I wonder if sometimes
if a houseguest or teenager answered the door and just guessed at the data
listed for some folks.
Jan Bryan
Hi Jan,
You found some interesting data about Israel Custer's family. I have him in
Pennsylvania in 1850. Could your entry # 1 be a reference to the 1860
Illinois census?
Garry
