Victor Castner (27 Sept 1833) was the son of John Castner and Maria Parke.
John Castner was the son of Daniel Ford Castner and his 2nd wife Elizabeth Moore.
Victor Castner (1858) was the grandson of Daniel Ford Castner and his 1st wife Mary
Elizabeth Ort.
I do not know of a common ancestor named Victor.
Victor Castner's (1833), father, mother, baby sister and uncle John B. Parke were all
victims of a murder committed on 1 May 1843 at the Castner/Parke house in Changewater.
Changewater (Warren County) is right next to the Musconetcong River, only a few hundred
feet from Lebanon Township (Hunterdon County). The Castners (except for John and his
family) were mostly on the Hunterdon County side.
Victor continued to live in Changewater until his death in 1895. His younger brother John
Parke Castner also survived the murder attempt and lived in the house where the murders
happened until his death in 1920.
This is a picture of the Castner gravestones at the Mansfield Cemetery in Washington, NJ.
My husband and I spent several years researching the murder story and wrote a book The
Changewater Murders about 10 years ago.
