Sharon you are correct in regards to name of cemetery. I have visited and photographed
the headstones. Where I got the info I posted I am not sure, but you are right. Somehow I
mixed some of my notes up. But I do have photos of Sarah Parkes headstone and Victors. I
have also photographed John, Maria's etc...head stones. I am a Castner and a
relative. I have also done extensive research along with other family historians. Daniel
Ford Castner is my 5th great grandfather.
However, what I stated was correct. Check historical documents such as newspaper articles
etc... They were buried in unmarked graves next to the railroad because it was believed
their souls would never rest. Check NEW YORK TIMES article after Victor died.
I spoke with someone who owned the land that they were buried on and he said the same
thing. He had just sold the land to a developer and feared when the land was dug up that
bones would be discovered and the whole mess would be opened up all over again. This was
several years ago.
