The information I have is not much but I'm glad to hear from someone on the Castner
side. William G. Castner is my gggrandfather. As for Maria or Mariah she and John were
married around 1820 in Brutus, Cayuga County, New York. Her Father's name , so I was
told, was Erastus Sabins, Saben or Sabin. Mariah was born, I think, in Williamstown,
Berkshire, Massachusettes. Mariah and some of her children are in the 1850 Seneca
County, Ohio census
Thompson Twsp. But John is not there. I think he died around 1847-1849. But I have not
found a grave for him. Mariah or Maria died 18 January, 1858. She is buried in the Flint
Indiana Cematary. Her headstone reads," Mariah , wife of John Castner. Their son
John, moved to Clarke County, Wisconsin. I woukld be interested in any other information
you have on the Castner's and Maria's family. And if my information conflicts
with anything you have let me know. Thank you
