Seeking information re: Albert John Castleman, who was the proprietor of
the "Prince of Wales" public house in Mumbles / Oystermouth, Swansea
South Wales. Although not a family member, my reason for writing is that
whilst diving Swansea Bay i discovered a glass bottle (c1870 /80s)
presumable a beer bottle with an embossed label with "Castleman of
Mumbles". I have carried out some local research and found that he used
to brew and bottle his own beers in the "Prince of Wales", and the the
reason i found it out in the bay was probably due to the local butcher
that used to collect the rubbish from others and bury it in the sand at
low water along with his own rubbish. i lost track of him around 1914.
There is no mention on any local cenotaphs / war memorials. Any help
would be greatly appreciated to complete the picture of this local
brewer
